<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance-measuring apparatus capable of accurately determining the distance to an object while increasing the efficiency of detecting any objects. <P>SOLUTION: The distance-measuring apparatus S includes an image input part 11 that is mounted on a mobile object 10 to obtain direct images including those of a plane of motion over which the mobile object 10 moves as well as reflected images including those of the target object except the plane of motion; a movement calculating part 12 for calculating the amount of movement of the mobile object 10 on the basis of optical flow derived from the direct images obtained by the image input part 11; and a distance calculating part 13 that calculates the distance to the target object on the basis of the optical flow derived from the reflected images and the amount of movement calculated by the movement calculating part 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
