PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which allows one part of reductive component in exhaust gas to flow out to the downstream.

SOLUTION: In the exhaust cleaning catalyst of carrying an oxidative catalyst 1 which oxidizes and cleans the reductive component in the exhaust gas principally, a carrying amount of the oxidative catalyst per unit volume is made less than the ordinary amount thereof.
