PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid bearing device for preventing lubricating oil from splashing to the outside even during rotation drive while holding relatively much lubricating oil on a seal face portion. SOLUTION: The sectional shape of the seal face portion 8 is constituted by a plurality of inclined faces 8a, 8b. An angle of inclination α of the seal face portion 8 to a shaft axis X of a nearer-radial-bearing-portion inclined face 8a formed nearer a radial baring portion 6 is greater than an angle of inclination β of a distant inclined face 8b formed on a side farther distant from the radial bearing portion 6 than from the nearer-radial-bearing-portion inclined face 8a, to the shaft axis X. In this construction, the lubricating oil 5 is prevented from splashing to the outside even during rotation drive while holding relatively much lubricating oil 5 between the seal face portion 8 and a shaft 4.
