PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission having a drum connecting structure adaptable for cost reduction. SOLUTION: The automatic transmission comprises a multiple disc brake and a one-way clutch. Herein, there are provided a first clearance which has a mounting allowance in a joint portion between an inner race and a hub member of the multiple disc brake in the radial direction, a second clearance which has a mounting allowance in a joint portion between the hub member of the multiple disc brake and a carrier plate in the radial direction, and a third clearance between the inner race or an outer race of the one-way clutch and an end bearing. The sum of the first clearance and the second clearance is set to be larger than the third clearance.
