PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which is free from chlorine-containing compounds and bromine-containing compounds, is excellent in processability, heat resistance, mechanical properties and dielectric properties and exhibits environmentally desirable, high-degree flame retardancy, mechanical properties and dielectric properties. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition comprises a resin, (A) a nitrogen-containing compound and (B) a pentavalent phosphorus compound having a difference of 40-100°C between the 50% weight loss temperature and the 5% weight loss temperature when heated from ordinary temperature to 600°C at a temperature-raising rate of 10°C/min as measured by TGA in an inert gas atmosphere.
