PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Q-switched pulse optical fiber laser device, wherein both of ASE and up-conversion are suppressed to improve the oscillation efficiency thereof, and an erbium-added optical fiber preferable for the device. SOLUTION: In this Q-switched pulse optical fiber laser device, the erbium-added optical fiber 1 is used as an oscillation medium, and a Q-switch element 7 is provided on at least one side of a resonator formed by sending excitation light into the optical fiber. This Q-switched pulse optical fiber laser device is a multimode double clad optical fiber, wherein the cross-sectional area ratio of the erbium-added optical fiber between the core and the first clad thereof is in a range of 1:50 to 1:4, and the amount of erbium added to the core is in a range of 200-9,000 molppm.
