PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a void filler free of such a risk that the filler material runs at the time of foaming to cause gaps to be left while the construction remains simple. SOLUTION: The void filler 1 to be heated and expanded to fill the void 12 surrounded by walls is provided with a projection 26 protruded toward the confronting wall of an outer member 6 from a plate form part 14 formed along the wall of a reinforcement 8. The plate form part 14 and the projection 26 are formed in a single piece from a foam resin, and the projection 26 is positioned as not constituting an obstruction when formation is made with a hollow member laid one over another. A plurality of such projections 26 are provided in such a length as touching the confronting wall of the outer 6. The void 12 is one formed inside the pillar of a vehicle, and the plate form part 14 is furnished with a clip part 20 to be engaged with a through hole 22 formed in the wall of the reinforcement 8.
