The method for the reducing of the absorbable torque (Mp) of a hydrodynamic clutch in high slip ranges entails filling the clutch with a desired degree of filling of predefined value, and especially a minimum filling level (FGmin), when the clutch is in operation. During the establishing of the desired or minimum filling level in high slip ranges in a region of 70 to 100 per cent means are brought into effect to influence the flow circulation establishing itself in the clutch's working chamber. An independent claim is included for a hydrodynamic clutch which has means to influence the flow circulation in the clutch's working chamber.
