Herbicidal composition comprises a sulfonylurea herbicide (I) and a safener (II), where (I) is metsulfuron, thifensulfuron, tribenuron, chlorsulfuron or a salt or ester thereof and (II) is mefenpyr, isoxadifen, cloquintocet, fenchlorazol or its salt or ester. An independent claim is also included for controlling harmful plants in crops by applying the components of a composition as above together or separately to the harmful plants, the crop plants, plant seeds or growing surface. ACTIVITY : Herbicide. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
