<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system by which whether image quality has been deteriorated or not can easily be checked with eyes during image formation. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where specific conditions are established in the course of an image formation job using a main stacking part 201 as a place to which sheets are ejected, for example, the number of sheets used for image formation reaches a specific number (e.g., 100 sheets) or the inside temperature of an apparatus reaches a predetermined temperature, a test image is formed independently from the job and the sheet with the test image on it is ejected onto a sub-stacking part 202. Thereafter, the place to which sheets are ejected is returned to the main staking part 201, and the job which has been interrupted is automatically resumed. This eliminates the need to find the test pattern image among many output sheets stacked on the main stacking part 201 or keep watching the stacking part so as not to fail to notice the test pattern image ejected onto the main stacking part 201, thereby reducing the load on a maintenance worker or an operator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
