<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical telephone repeater capable of connecting a communication means to an optical communication path and enabling the communication means to make a call irrespective of the conduction status of commercial power source. <P>SOLUTION: The optical telephone repeater is used to connect a telephone set (2) to optical fibers (3a, 3b). This optical telephone repeater is provided with a connector (4) for connecting the telephone set (2); a photoelectric converter (5) for converting optical signals inputted from the optical fibers (3a, 3b) into electric signals and transmitting the converted signals to the connection section (4), connecting the electric signals intputted from the connector into optical signals, and transmitting the converted signals to the optical transmission path; and a power source (7) for supplying power to the telephone set (2) directly or via the connector (4). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
