摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch control mode automatically so that a vehicle travels not with the driving force of an engine but with that of a motor in a low speed traveling section. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation system is mounted on a hybrid vehicle and traveling data is sampled at a predetermined sampling period and stored when the vehicle travels actually. Traveling data thus acquired is analyzed and sections traveled at a predetermined vehicle speed Vlow or below are specified and extracted. Sections longer than a predetermined length L are specified among the extracted sections and stored as low speed traveling sections while being associated with road data.
