PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed electroluminescence element having high light emission efficiency and high luminance, and the distributed electroluminescence element capable of preventing luminance unevenness and short circuit caused by long AC power drive even when a flexible substrate is used. SOLUTION: The distributed electroluminescence element includes a transparent electrode, luminescent layer, insulating layer, and back electrode. A specific inductive capacity of the insulating layer is more than three times a specific inductive capacity of the luminescent layer, a ratio of a thickness of the insulating layer to the luminescent layer is more than one-third, and a voltage applied to the luminescent layer is more than 80% of a voltage applied to an entire element.
