PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconductive wire material of high critical electric current density, with low tendency of blisters or the like arising on the surface of the covering metal during the heat treatment process. SOLUTION: This is the superconductive wire material composed of an oxide superconductor, and a coating metal to cover this oxide superconductor, in which oxygen content of this coating metal is 50 ppm or less.
