摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent (EL) display device having an aperture ratio improved and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device includes a display panel provided with a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines crossing the scan lines, and a plurality of pixel circuits formed like a matrix by the scan lines and the data lines. Each pixel circuit 40 includes an organic EL element including first and second pixel electrode layers 42 and an organic luminescent layer which is formed between the first and second pixel electrode layers 42 and displays an image correspondingly to a current flowing between the first and second pixel electrode layers 42, and includes a driving circuit 80 which controls the current flowing between the first and second pixel electrode layers 42 correspondingly to image signals applied to a plurality of data lines D1 in response to selection signals from scan lines S1 and S2, and the first pixel electrode layer of the organic EL element is formed so as to be superimposed on a power supply line 50 for supplying a power to the driving circuit 80, with a first insulating layer between them.
