PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which sufficiently improves cleaning performance by a simple means while making the best use of an advantage of enhancing image quality by high-sphericity toner of polymerized toner when developing/transferring an image. SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 10 provided with a latent image carrier 11 which has a toner image formed thereon and is internally provided with a heating means, and a cleaning device 12 for removing toner left untransferred on the latent image carrier 11 after transfer of the toner image to a transfer material, a pressurizing means capable of applying pressure to the toner left untransferred is provided above the cleaning device 12 in the rotating direction of the latent image carrier 11.
