PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method capable of easily inspecting the healthiness of a rail bond joint by an ultrasonic flaw detecting method. SOLUTION: Ultrasonic waves are allowed to be incident on the rail bond joint 6 from a rail midsection part 4a on the side opposite to the rail bond joint 6, and when the area of the bonding surface 7 of the rail bond joint 6 reflecting the reflected wave, where the height of a reflected echo is smaller than the set value set, based on the sound pressure reflectivity of the material of a rail 4 and the material of the rail bond joint 6, in the reflected wave reflected from the bonding surface 7 is 80% or higher with respect to a target bonding area, the soundness of the rail bond joint 6 is decided as being satisfactory.
