PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine capable of setting a control pattern desired to be realized by simple operation, while easily grasping the actual action image. SOLUTION: In the material testing machine equipped with a control means 2 for setting the arbitrary quantity in a plurality of physical quantities, including testing force and the displacement of a load mechanism (crosshead) 14, as control quantity and a setting means (personal computer) 3 for setting the control quantity and control parameter due to the control means 2; the set content due to the setting means 3 is platted, on the basis of diagrammatical information inclusive of a time-control quantity graph to set control operation while sensuously grasping the same.
