PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce paper to be pasted on a tile surface, equipped with excellent water absorptivity and wet strengths jointly and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The paper to be pasted on the tile surface is provided by containing a polyamide-epichlorohydrin-based paper strengthening agent and a polyoxyalkylene fatty acid ester in specific ratios in a cellulose-based stock paper and not containing a sizing agent. The method for producing the paper to be pasted on the tile surface comprises blending the polyamide-epichlorohydrin-based paper strengthening agent and a polyoxyalkylene fatty acid ester in specific ratios in the cellulose-based pulp raw material based on dried mass of the pulp without blending the sizing agent and papermaking.
