PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swing toy with a swing part to oscillate in such a way that the amplitude becomes gradually larger from the stationed state. SOLUTION: When a permanent magnet 17 inside the swing part 15 and an electromagnetic coil 21 inside a pedestal are brought close to each other, a lead switch 24 is turned on and an electric current is fed to the electromagnetic coil 21 for a fixed period of time. The swing part 15 is made to oscillate by the alternate effects of the electromagnetic repulsive force between the magnetic field generated from the electromagnetic coil 21 and the magnetic field generated from the permanent magnet 17 and the gravity working on the swing part 15. The swing part 15 can be made to oscillate as if a stuffed doll 16 on the swing part 15 were propelling the the swing from the stationed state. As the amplitude of the swing part 15 can be naturally increased, an observer of the oscillation of the swing part 15 can be more amused. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
