An object of he invention is to provide a decomposition reaction vessel adapted for microwave decomposition method and allowing visual observation of a sample in the process of reaction from outside and being capable of being used for every microwave generating device without being deformed. As a solving means therefor, it comprises an outer vessel of metal consisting of an outer sleeve having a plurality of slits cut therein and an outer lid removably threadedly fitted to the top of the outer sleeve, and an inner vessel consisting of a bottomed semitransparent inner sleeve and an inner lid seated on the top of the inner sleeve, wherein the inner sleeve is stored in the outer vessel with its outer peripheral surface being in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the outer sleeve, the inner sleeve and inner lid being pressed by a pressing means so that the interior of the inner vessel is held in a hermetically closed state.
