<p>The present invention relates to solvent based coatings which have a low level of volatile organics compounds (VOC) meeting California VOC regulations and which can be spray applied as a coating on a variety of surfaces. The coating formulation comprises a hydrogenated styrene/butadiene triblock copolymer, a hydrogenated styrene/butadiene diblock copolymer, at least one hydrocarbon solvent, at least one VOC exempt solvent, a midblock tackifying resin, and a pigment or filler. The relative amounts of solvent, tackifying resin and pigment are adjusted to obtain a solvent based, elastomeric coating having a VOC content of no more than 250 grams per liter and a viscosity no higher than 2,000 centipoise (2000mPa.s) @ 25°C as measured according to ASTM D2196.</p> |
