HOLDER FOR AFFIXING SIGNAL PICK-UP DEVICES TO A BODY SURFACE

A holder for affixing two or more signal pick-up devices to a body surface. The signal pick-up devices may be, for example, microphones, electrodes, thermometers, or plethysmographs. The holder comprises a retaining surface formed from an air impervious material. The retaining surface has two or more attachment sites, each attachment site being configured to retain a signal pick-up device. A sealing ring formed from an air impervious material projects from a face of the retaining surface around an edge of the face. A vacuum port is used to connect the holder to a source of negative pressure for evacuating a chamber defined by the holder and the body surface when the sealing ring is applied to the body surface. The holder may be used in a system for recording and analyzing body signals.
