PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply for battery-assisted bicycle in which an undue current being supplied from a battery when starting a motor and becoming a significant factor for reducing the lifetime of the battery can be supplied from an auxiliary power supply. SOLUTION: The power supply for battery-assisted bicycle having a main power supply 1 employing a battery and an auxiliary power supply 2 employing an electric double layer capacitor comprises a current limit circuit 3, a charging circuit 4, a reverse current prevention circuit 5, a load (motor) 6, and a drive control circuit 7. Under steady state, the drive control circuit 7 performs PWM control to supply the load 6 with a current from the main power supply 1 through the current limit circuit 3. When starting a motor, most of undue current is supplied to the load 6 from the auxiliary power supply 2 through the reverse current prevention circuit 5.
