CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM AND LSI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the use of an LSI for a confidential information processing by the fraudulent alteration of software or impersonation and to protect data flowing through a bus from an analysis using a probe or the like in a system for processing confidential information.

SOLUTION: In the LSI for the confidential information processing, by detecting alteration in a comparator 1008 and performing authentication processing in a comparator 1020 for the software for controlling the LSI 1002, the propriety of the software is confirmed and the use of the LSI for the confidential information processing by fraudulent software is prevented. Also, by sharing session keys 1035 and 1038 based on a random number used in the authentication processing by both of the LSI and the software and performing ciphered communication using the session keys, data flowing through the bus are protected.
