POLYESTER FILM-COATED METAL SHEET AND METAL CAN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film-coated metal sheet having high speed and high processing drawing/ironing processability and hard to cause whitening of a film even if subjected to hot water/warm water treatment. SOLUTION: This polyester film-coated metal sheet is constituted by coating both sides of a metal sheet with a polyester film comprising a polyester wherein the weight mixing ratio of a polyester based on ethylene terephthalate and a polyester based on butylene terephthalate is 60:40-30:70. The polyester film applied to the metal surface corresponding to the outer surface side of a metal can contains 0.01-3 pts.wt. of a phosphite stabilizer with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the polyester and is characterized in that the intrisic viscosity (IV) thereof is 0.70 dL/g or above, the density thereof is 1.320 g/cm3or below and the probe penetration start temperature measured by TMA (thermomechanical analysis) thereof is 35-55°C.
