PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle board constituted so as not only to prevent the alkali contamination of a decorative material caused by free alkali present in a face layer but also to prevent the lowering of the quality of a groove color without performing special substrate treatment, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This particle board has the face layer 1 comprising a wood piece or an alkali phenol resin applied to the wood piece and a white oxide pigment is added to the face layer.
