PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP capable of improving luminous efficiency by improving a structure of a sustaining electrode and a dielectric layer. SOLUTION: This PDP includes: a front substrate and a rear substrate arranged oppositely to each other and forming a discharge space between them; a plurality of address electrodes formed in stripes on an upper surface of the rear substrate; a first dielectric layer formed on the upper surface of the rear substrate so as to cover the address electrodes; a plurality of barrier ribs formed on the upper surface of the first dielectric layer and partitioning the discharge space to form a plurality of discharge cells; a phosphor layer formed on an upper surface of the first dielectric layer and on side surfaces of the plurality of barrier ribs; first and second sustaining electrodes formed on the lower surface of the front substrate in each of the discharge cells in a direction perpendicular to the address electrodes, each of the first sustaining electrodes and each of the second sustaining electrodes comprising a plurality of electrodes; and a second dielectric layer formed on the lower surface of the front substrate to cover the first and second sustaining electrodes, and having protruding parts formed between the first and second sustaining electrodes and protruding toward the discharge cells.
