PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an eddy current reduction gear at a low cost by improving claw-shaped induction poles arranged at an electromagnet for the eddy current reduction gear. SOLUTION: The eddy current reduction gear comprises a brake drum 11 that is installed to a rotating shaft and generates an eddy current, and the electromagnet 12 installed at the fixed side so as to oppose the brake drum inside the brake drum 11. The electromagnet 12 comprises a pair of disk-shaped magnetic pole members 16 formed so as to oppose both sides of a core 14 mounted with the electromagnet 15, and the claw-shaped induction poles 17 that are arranged so as to oppose the axial direction at prescribed pitches at which the claw-shaped induction poles are not connected to the external periphery of a face that the magnetic pole members 16 do not oppose. Screws 17a are integrally formed to the claw-shaped induction poles 17, and insertion holes 16a for fixing the screws 17a to the magnetic pole members 16 are formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
