PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a channel substantially desirably to be recorded cannot be recorded because a received signal output to a recording apparatus is forcibly switched to an emergency broadcast channel when the emergency broadcast is detected while the recording apparatus records the received signal on emergency. SOLUTION: A receiver disclosed herein includes a plurality of reception systems each comprising a channel selection circuit, a demodulation circuit, a multiplexer/demultiplexer circuit, and a decoding circuit. In the case of detecting an emergency broadcast, the reception system for receiving a signal output for recording the received signal continues channel selection and demodulation as it is and the other reception system selects and displays the emergency broadcast channel.
