PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor post of which the free vertical movements and fine height adjustment by means of threads have become possible, but which is still simple in structure and of which operation method can intuitively be known. SOLUTION: A horizontally movable female thread part is provided at the upper area of the floor post. This female thread part includes a vertical through hole, in which female threads are formed over a nearly half of the inner circumferential surface of this through hole, with the rest being flat and larger in diameter than the female threaded half. A male threaded shaft having a receiver at its top is inserted into this through hole. The female threaded part moves by a rock mechanism to change a released state where the flat surface half of the female thread part contacts the male threaded shaft into a fixed state where the female threaded half engages with the male threaded shaft, and vice versa.
