PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass plate containing a stainless steel wire gauze in which a shape of a mesh of the wire gauze in the glass plate is a square and to provide the glass plate containing the stainless steel wire gauze which is usable as a fireproof glass, in which a metallic wire for the wire gauze can be easily cut and which has magnetic property. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the glass plate containing the stainless steel wire gauze, when the wire gauze is inserted into a glass ribbon, the wire gauze is arranged so that a diagonal line of the square formed by the stainless steel wire gauze is parallel or orthogonal with the traveling direction of the glass ribbon, and the length of the diagonal line parallel with the traveling direction is set in 74.0-100.0% to the length of the diagonal line orthogonal with the traveling direction, and a wire gauze feeding speed is set in 0.87-0.97 times to a travelling speed of the glass ribbon.
