PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording method which enables a high output BALD with a large smile to be utilized without being influenced by the expansion of a recording light due to the smile of the BALD and diminishing a focal point depth; and enhances rapid recording/productivity, and an image recording device. SOLUTION: In this image recording method using the device, an image of a near field pattern of a broad area array-type laser diode light source with a plurality of luminescent points discretely arranged in a subscanning direction, is formed on a space photomodulation element. Further, this image is formed on a recording medium and the discretely arranged luminescent points are skip-scanned; and all the lines in the main scanning direction are scanned without any interstice.
