The early warning system includes a telescopic antenna which is triggered to provide an early warning of e.g. braking, decelerating or a traffic jam or the like to other vehicles coming from behind. A flashing light and, if desired, also a flag is provided on top of the antenna and flashes when triggered. The antenna device is located in the gap between the car bonnet and front windscreen.
