METHOD FOR HEAT TREATMENT OF A METAL OXIDE CATALYST FOR REMOVAL OF ORGANIC MATERIAL TO MAKE A POROUS CATALYST AND EQUIPMENT THEREFORE

A method for heat treatment of a metal oxide catalyst for removal of organic material to make a porous catalyst. The catalyst particles are heated in an atmosphere in which the rate of oxygen transport to the catalyst is controlled through diffusion in order to reduce and control the exothermic decomposition of an organic pore former. A sealed tray for use in the method is also described.
