<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically measuring the dimensions of concave grooves formed on a molding rapidily and with high precision by image measurement. <P>SOLUTION: The first step of correcting position aberration of rotating direction S of the molding W by adjusting the angle between reference orthogonal lines X and Y, passing through the reference point O pre-stored in a memory device to the angle (tilting) of the orthogonal lines x and y, passing through the midpoint m<SB>1</SB>of line L connecting the vertex H<SB>1</SB>and H<SB>2</SB>of the two rib angles 11 and 12 in the concave groove 1, from image information of the external geometry of the molding W and the second step of selecting and correcting position aberration of direction of the X-axis and Y-axis, consisting of the aforementioned reference orthogonal lines of the aforementioned molding, such that some arbitrary points (P or Q) from either the outermost periphery part or the innermost periphery part in the concave groove 1 of the molding concerned W from image information of the external geometry of the molding W, by determining a virtual circle passing through these arbitrary points, assuming the center V of the virtual circle concerned as the center of the molding and adjusting the reference point O of coordinate to the center V, are, at least, implemented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
