摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive-electrode subsidiary active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, a positive-electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having superior battery characteristics, even under more severe usage environment, and also to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The positive-electrode subsidiary active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries is a lithium transition metal composite oxide of at least spinel structure. Each of the concentrations of boron, fluorine, and magnesium, existing in the surface of the subsidiary active material, is higher than that of boron, fluorine, and magnesium existing inside it. The concentration of the magnesium existing inside is higher than each of the concentrations of the boron and fluorine existing inside.
