<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor that is high in rotation efficiency and further less prone to be worn or damaged and of long operating life. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor comprises a stator 10 having en elastic body 11 with a piezoelectric material 12 installed thereon, and a rotor 20 abutted on the stator 10. The rotor 20 is driven by progressive waves produced on the surface of the stator 10 due to ultrasonic vibration generated by the piezoelectric material 12. The rotor 20 is formed of an aluminum alloy and is provided with sprayed coating 21 on the portion of its surface abutted against the stator 10. The sprayed coating has a surface hardness of Hv500 or less in Vickers hardness, and is predominantly composed of aluminum, not less than 15% by mass and not more than 63% by mass in silicon content. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
