<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending vibration type actuator which is not destroyed by an excessive impulse that occurs in the case of falling. <P>SOLUTION: The bending vibration type actuator comprises beams (b1, b2) each including a laminated structure of piezoelectric layers and electrode layers formed on a plate-like body, a holding mechanism for holding the beams, and feeding terminals (t1, t2) to supply an exciting power to the electrode layers of the beams, and excites bending vibration to the beams. The holding mechanism is composed of a case (c) comprising a holding part for housing the beams and holding one terminal portion or the central portion of each beam. The inner surface of the case facing the beams is formed from a smooth curved surface or stepwise surface capable of point-contact, line-contact or surface-contact with the surface of beams at a plurality of positions in its lengthwise direction if excessive bending vibration occurs in the beams. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
