PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box for transferring glass substrates capable of accurately registering rib positions of a side face pad on the recovering side against the rib positions of a side face pad of the other side and recovering the side face pad when the side face pad is recovered. SOLUTION: Base members 58a connected on the inner faces of the side plates 8b, and the side face pads 58 continuously provided on the base members 58a to support the side end parts of the glass substrates and consisting of a plurality of inducing rib members 58b being in parallel with each other and extending vertically, are freely interchangeably arranged on the inner faces of a pair of facing side plates 8b of a box body 2. Scale plates S provided with scales corresponding to arranged positions of a plurality of inducing rib members 58b are provided on the inner side faces of the box body 2. For example, as the scale plates S can be used when a damaged side face pad 58 is recovered, the inducing rib member 58b of respective side face pads 58 can be extremely easily registered.
