PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a high rate of terminals converted into primary hydroxy groups. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyoxyalkylene polyol comprises producing a crude polyoxyalkylene polyol 1 by addition polymerization of an epoxide compound composed mainly of propylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising a compound having 0.01-0.6 mol% P=N bond based on the active hydrogen of an active hydrogen compound. then adding more than 0.6 mol% but less than 50 mol% alkali metal compound catalyst based on hydroxy of the crude polyoxyalkylene polyol 1 to perform addition polymerization of ethylene oxide so as to produce a crude polyoxyalkylene polyol 2, and contacting the crude polyoxyalkylene polyol 2 with a solid acid.
