PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroxygallium phthalocyanine pigment whereby good dispersibility and sufficient sensibility, electrification characteristic, and dark decay characteristic are obtained and image quality that is stable for a long time period without generating any image defects such as a fog, black spot, or white spot can be obtained, when the pigment is used as a material for an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a process for the production thereof, an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the same, a process cartridge, and an electrophotographic device. SOLUTION: The hydroxygallium phthalocyanine pigment is characterized by having a maximum peak wavelength within a range from 810 nm to 839 nm in optical absorption spectrum in a wavelength range from 600 nm to 900 nm.
