PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having excellent removing ability of lipid metabolite and having both of the shampoo function and the rinse function. SOLUTION: The cosmetic for hair comprises (1) a polymer having a single amino acid residue of poly(N-methacryloyllysine), polyaspartic acid, polyglutamic acid, etc., and/or its salt and (2) a hydroxycarboxylic acid such as lactic acid or glycolic acid and/or its salt, and preferably further comprises a 1-4C ester of lauroylsarcosine.
