PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a long-term and stable continuous exothermic reaction at high temperatures using a molybdenum-containing catalyst while maximally suppressing molybdenum deposition on cooling pipings. SOLUTION: The exothermic reaction is carried out at 200-500°C by charging the molybdenum-containing solid catalyst into a reactor with one or more cooling pipings of sensible heat utilization type installed throughout the inside and then introducing reactant(s) into the reactor.
