The present invention relates to combination vaccines comprising a conjugated polysaccharide antigen linked to a carrier protein, and wherein the carrier protein is also present as a free antigen in the vaccine composition, characterized in that the ratio of polysaccharide to protein is from 1:0:3 to 1:2. In particular, the vaccine composition of the present invention relates to a multivalent vaccine, that is a vaccine for the amelioration or treatment of more than one disease state.
