<p>A noncrosslinkable flame-retardant resin composition which is satisfactory in flame retardancy, mechanical properties, flexibility, and processability, is less apt to melt even when used in a high-temperature atmosphere, suffers no material deterioration even when used in contact with a vinyl chloride resin material, etc., and has sufficient heat resistance over long; and an insulated electrical wire and a wire harness each obtained with the composition. The composition comprises (A) a noncrosslinkable base resin comprising a propylene resin having a propylene unit content of 50 wt.% or higher and a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 180°C or higher and, incorporated therein, (B) a metal hydrate, (C) a hindered-phenol antioxidant, (D) a sulfur compound antioxidant, and (E) a metal oxide. As the thermoplastic resin, ingredient (D), and ingredient (E) are preferably used polymethylpentene, an imidazole compound, and zinc oxide, respectively. The insulated electrical wire is a halogen-free insulated wire which employs the composition as an insulating coating material. The wire harness employs this electrical wire in the electrical wire bundle.</p> |
