<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and useful adapter and connector which can be smoothly mounted on various household electric appliances. <P>SOLUTION: The outer shape of an adapter 100 is demarcated by a box-shaped main body case, and a recess 101 notched like a cross-sectional L shape to the direction of a bottom face is formed on a front face. A connector 102 for inputting/outputting an electric signal to an internal circuit is arranged in the recess 101. The connector 102 is configured of a plate-shaped terminal, and when the adapter 100 is mounted on the equipment main body, it is connected to a connector 200 at the equipment main body side. The bottom face and front face of the connector 102 are opened to the outside so that the connector 102 can be connected to a connector at an equipment side from the front face or bottom face side.
