<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing type pipe joint which has an expansion/contraction absorbing function of a connecting pipe in an environment that the connecting pipe is axially expanded/contracted and is excellent in workability and economic efficiency, and also, to provide a snow-melting panel unit capable of surely melting snow without the occurrence of falling-off accidents of piping and breaking of a piping system in an environment that piping is axially expanded/contracted or axially moved. <P>SOLUTION: The pipe joint 1 for a housing has a housing 3, in which at least an opening at a part is provided in the outer peripheral face and a socket 10 for connecting a branch pipe is connected to the opening, and an elastic seal member 2 which has a hollow protruding part 4 at a position corresponding to the socket 10 for connecting a branch pipe. The elastic seal member 2 is fitted and inserted to the inside of the housing by internally inserting the hollow protruding part 4 to the socket 10 for connecting a branch pipe.
