PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber, an optical waveguide, an optical apparatus, or the like wherein the variance of transmitted light intensity caused by interference between higher modes and the fundamental mode is small. SOLUTION: With respect to optical fibers 26, 27, and 28 which are short in the direction of an optical axis, both end faces are inclined to a surface orthogonal to the optical axis, and one and the other of both end faces are arranged forming about 90°angle.
