PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bore a tube insertion hole at the correct position while straightening the outline dimension of an extruded tank. SOLUTION: In a heat exchanger composed of at least tubes having a heat exchange medium passage, fins alternately interposed between the tubes, and a tank arranged on one of or both of the tubes, the tank is extruded, and stored in an outline dimension straightening die. Liquid is poured into the tank, and high pressure is applied to the liquid to straighten the shape of the tank. A tube insertion hole is bored in one side of the tank by moving a punch in an upper die in the direction of the tank simultaneously with straightening of the shape of the tank.
